About GapXai
Quick Note from the Developer
This isn’t a big corporate project—it’s just me, trying to build a useful tool. It’s a work in progress, and the goal is to make it more helpful every time you open it. If you have ideas, run into issues, or just want to share your thoughts, please shoot me an email at help@gapxai.com.
Hope it helps you figure out your bag a little better.
How to use GapX
This app is designed to answer key questions about your equipment using your launch monitor data to quickly spot opportunities to optimize your bag with just a single cell phone picture of launch data off any simulator. You can then use that data to simply better grasp your current bag backed by data or take it a step farther to make modifications via equipment, which the app can help suggest. Here’s how it works:
DO THIS FIRST ----> Create an Initial Baseline: Use data from a single iron to project a full performance map for your entire iron set.
Get Equipment Recommendations: Use the Driver and Iron Engines to analyze your data and suggest specific equipment profiles.
Build Your "My Bag": Log the performance data for every club you own to have a complete picture of your setup.
Your First Step: The 'Initial Baseline'
The best place to start is by creating your gapping baseline. This single session is the foundation for understanding your bag.
From the Main Menu, tap 'Initial Session Analysis' to begin. All you need is a picture of the data from one iron you hit on a launch monitor. It doesn't matter which club or simulator brand—just capture as many data points as possible. From that, the app will map out how the rest of your irons should gap and perform.
In seconds, you'll get a detailed yardage table and a summary analysis, custom-projected from your data:
Club Ball Speed Carry Spin Apex Descent
-------------------------------------------------------------------
4i 134.4 mph 199 yds 4031 rpm 92 ft 45.7°
5i 129.6 mph 189 yds 4451 rpm 97 ft 46.6°
6i 124.8 mph 179 yds 5230 rpm 95 ft 46.6°
7i 118.1 mph 167 yds 6005 rpm 100 ft 47.5°
8i 113.3 mph 156 yds 6810 rpm 97 ft 47.5°
9i 107.5 mph 145 yds 7484 rpm 95 ft 48.5°
PW 99.8 mph 135 yds 7853 rpm 95 ft 48.5°
(Ideal windows (irons): Apex 80–110+ ft, Descent 45–50°+ for reliable stopping power)
That’s just the first step. I’m continually building out the database and working on new features and better ways to compare your numbers (such as the Driver and Iron Engines which can give you equipment recommendations from your launch data and the "My Bag" feature where you can save the data from each of your own clubs. It’s a work in progress, but the goal is to make it more useful every time you open it.
